Q. How do I begin the application process?
A. You may contact the School Office by email ccawarriors@yahoo.com or phone 601-910-5990 and speak with our Director of Admissions, Marie Brooks, to request an information packet. You may also complete the online application. We will follow up with you once we received your information. Another way to submit an application is download it from this site, fill it in, and fax (601-910-5992), or mail it to us. We open enrollment for the new school year to our current families in January. Enrollment is then open to new families in February. If you apply before that time, you will be placed on a waiting list and have a priority slot when enrollment is officially opened.
Q. When should I apply?
A. We recommend that you apply as early as possible in the fall of the year prior to the desired entry date. With an application on file, the Admissions Office will send you information regularly to keep you updated about school life and activities. K3 applications are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Limited availability necessitates early application.
Q. What is the birthday cutoff for students entering the Preschool and first grade programs?
A. CCA has a September 1 cutoff for students entering our kindergarten and first grade programs. In other words, a student must be 4, 5, or 6 on or before September 1 to enter the appropriate grade.
Q. What is the average class size at CCA?
A. We are committed to small classes, with a student to teacher ratio of 10 to one in preschool, 16 to one in kindergarten and primary grades, and 20 to one in upper elementary and secondary grades.
Q. What do I need to do to prepare my child for the Admissions entrance test?
A. The entrance tests are achievement test based on material that your child has covered during the regular school year. Consequently, there is no need to make any additional preparatory efforts. Make sure the student has had a good night's sleep and a nourishing breakfast. The biggest factor in making their day successful is to reduce the stress level, so please do not over-emphasize the importance of the test.
Q. After my child completes the Admissions test, when will I be informed about acceptance?
A. CCA will normally inform the prospective student in writing within within 7 to 10 days of the testing date.
Q. Does CCA offer financial assistance or scholarships?
A. Yes, on a limited basis, but you must apply early in the registration process.
